FUTURES OF WOMEN 2020
Dear Ones
We live in interesting times. The world's population is about 50 percent women. Statistics show improvements in the years since Beijing, but there is still some way to go. Women are still bombarded by misogyny and sexism from all sides. Women are still poorer, earn less, bear the burden of poverty, hit glass ceilings, and do more with less. While the study of history is vital, it is even more vital to understand how the future may shape up in order to create the preferred futures and a global environment of equality.
This year's series engages women futurists and science and tech experts, gender advocates and to engage in discussions on the futures of women. They are women who are shaping the future across a variety of sectors. In Providentia's Prospectus - women futurists agree that the trend for women in leadership is increasing. What does it mean for the SDGs and advancing a paradigm shift on women in leadership and women's leadership styles for a secure future.
As we canvas the voices of women around the world, we hope to meet a key goal of The Futures Forum -- the promotion of diversity in the global dialogues about our common future.
Join us in this exploration of the landscape and byways of our shared future.
Safe Journeys.
THE FUTURES WE SEE...
As we continue our journey to 2030, there is increasing need to engage more people in addressing the global challenges from local and individual perspectives. There is also need to use new forms of communication to help enliven the dialogues needed for a paradigm shift. Truly human survival is at stake. And it will need evolutionary leadership to guide us through the shoals.
Meet eight (8) women from around the world, Africa, Europe and America who are shaping the future through art and technology. They are activists, technology advocates, educators and non profit leaders.
