OUR MISSION

The goal of the Omni Africa Space Research Education and Training Ungana (SPACE UNGANA) is to explore opportunities and challenges in the space industry ecosystem and identify strategies for building capacity to advance the African Space Agenda and Africa Union (AU) 2063 in particular.

Space Ungana 2023 is a gathering of academics, advocates, policy makers, technocrats and industry leaders interested in advancing the development of space in Africa.

A Gathering of Space Advocates and Enthusiasts Committed to advancing Space for All. 

FUTURES FORUM + DESERT TREK &  DESIGN DOJO + DESIGN IDEAFEST & HACKATHON

(JULY 10-12) The 3-day Futures Forum will feature selected keynotes, interactive sessions, panel discussions, research proposals and unique networking opportunities.

 

(JULY 13-18) The 5-day Desert Trek will include Site Visits to potential locations of OASEAS in Marsabit County across the lake from the 2,400 year old megalithic site used for star gazing by the ancient Cushites.  During this time, a online DESIGN DOJO (2 hours per day) will include workshops from experts on design thinking, gaming and analog research. 

(JULY 19 -21) The 3-day Design Ideafest &  Hackathon timed to commemorate International Moon Day will include: engineering/architecture/policy/marketing design hackathon and  cultural performances of storytelling, spoken word and poetry at the Kenya National Theater.
